WEEKEND WEDDINGS
OVERNIGHT STAYS: The Victorian house sleeps ten guests comfortably. For up to 40 additional guests, we have rental cabins, cottages and glamping tents a short distance away.
At our North River Hobby Farm, we offer wood fired pizza, a sauna, Japanese hot tub, free ranging chickens and amazing gardens. See details at NorthRiverHobbyFarm.com.
RECEPTION: The house has seating for about 15 guests and is ideal for cocktail hour or champagne toasts.
The first floor of the barn is set up with tables for 25 guests, a catering kitchen, and down the hall is a half bath and beautiful Japanese hot tub. We provide all the china, silverware and serving dishes for your use. There are several sideboards for your buffet spreads and a lovely red gas fireplace for cool nights. There is also a small stage with red velvet curtains for speeches or musicians.
The second floor of the barn is similar —- table seating for about 25 guests, catering kitchen and large island and sideboards for buffets. The tables can be taken down to create space for dancing. There are great caterers and restaurants in our area. For small weddings, we can do the catering for you. Or perhaps you would enjoy having friends or relatives make part of your reception dinner.
CEREMONY OPTIONS:
· Your wedding ceremony can take place in the large adjoining meadow where we are building a beautiful wedding gazebo. We supply folding chairs for up to about 50 guests.
· In cool or rainy weather, the barn can be used for your ceremony. We will move out the tables and set up 50 chairs, then reset the furniture for the reception.
· There are lovely historic churches nearby for your wedding ceremony.
ALCOHOL:
We ask that your order and pay for your alcohol at one of the nearby stores. We will pick it up and get it all set up for you. There will be a licensed bartender during the reception.
FLOWERS:
At our nearby North River Hobby Farm, we sell flowers for farmer’s markets and weddings —- wildflowers like daisies and black-eyed susan mixed with colorful annual flowers such as snapdragons and zinnias. Reasonably priced bouquets for your enjoyment!
HOW TO TOUR:
We offer tours on Sunday afternoons and most weekdays. The house can also be booked for an overnight stay at a reasonable price.
